How to Find Us
How to get from the Airport to Zurich
The least expensive way, costing approx. CHF 7.-- is to take the train to Zurich railway station. Follow the signs to the underground train station to get to the railway tracks. Trains leave every 15 to 20 minutes and take about 10 minutes to get to Zurich Central Station. (Zürich Hauptbahnhof or just 'HB').
Tickets can be bought at the ticket vending machine (switch the language to English at the bottom right corner of the screen). Choose 'Zurich Hauptbahnhof' - this ticket is valid for an hour on the train to Zurich main station as well as on the tram to ETH (see below), so you do not need to buy a separate ticket for the tram.
The ticketing machine accepts all major credit cards, bank cards and cash.
How to get from Zurich central station to the Multi-Scale Robotics Lab
Follow the signs at the railway station to get to the tram stop. There are two trams that will take you to the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems: tram no. 6 (direction 'Zoo') and tram no. 10 (direction Zürich-Flughafen). You'll find the nearest tram stop for no. 6 on Bahnhofstrasse, and for no. 10 on Bahnhofplatz/Hauptbahnhof.
The tram ride will take about 10 minutes. Get off at the third stop 'ETH/Universitätsspital' and walk back towards the city, along the tram line. The Multi-Scale Robotics Lab is in the CLA building, located approx. 20m from the tram stop on your right side, on H floor.
Tickets can be bought at the ticket vending machine (switch the language to English at the bottom right corner of the screen). Press 'Short-distance' for a single tram ride to our Institute. If you are planning on using the whole public transportation network in Zurich (Zone 110) for the entire day, press 'Day pass' (valid 24 hours).
The ticketing machine accepts all major credit and bank cards as well as coins.
