Çağatay Mert Oral

Çağatay M. Oral received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department at Middle East Technical University (METU). As an undergraduate researcher at Biomaterials and Nanomedicine Lab, he conducted research on biocompatible micro/nanoparticles. He developed a keen interest in the field of micro/nanorobotics during his graduate studies at METU. Inspired by targeted application capabilities of micro/nanorobots, he joined Prof. Martin Pumera’s research group at Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) to pursue his Ph.D. degree. At CEITEC, he developed micro/nanorobots actuated by external fields. In the last year of his Ph.D. studies, he had the opportunity to be an academic guest at Multi-Scale Robotics Lab to conduct research on self-assembly behavior of magnetic nanorobots.

After completing his Ph.D. studies in February 2025, Çağatay became a postdoctoral researcher at Multi-Scale Robotics Lab. Currently, he is conducting research on magnetoelectric nanoparticles for non-invasive brain stimulation. He is also interested in imaging-guided applications of magnetic nanorobots
