Lucky Mohutsiwa

Lucky Mohutsiwa was born and grew up in Bobonong, Botswana. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) in 2019. He then pursued a master's degree in Mechanical and Industrial Instrumentation Engineering, graduating in 2023 from the same university. His previous research involved the classification of electroencephalogram (EEG) signals to infer human emotions elicited by video stimuli. Additionally, he explored the use of EEG signals to control drones through motor imagery. He also worked as a mechatronics engineer, developing unmanned aerial vehicles for aerial surveillance.

He joined ETH Zurich as a Ph.D. student in September 2024. His research focuses on using machine learning algorithms to address communication latency issues in teleoperation over long distances when using electromagnetic navigation systems.

In his free time, he enjoys playing football, watching the news, or getting together with friends for a glass of wine and good-natured conversations.
