NEMS based on Lateral Arrays of CNTs
Dielectrophoretic Nanoassembly of Nanotubes onto Nanoelectrodes
- Dielectrophoretic assembly of carbon nanotubes onto nanoelectrodes has been demonstrated. The success in assembling single MWNTs onto nanoelectrode pairs suggests great potential for integrating nanosized functional elements onto nanoelectrodes, thus enabling nanoelectronics and NEMS applications.

Lateral Field Emitter Arrays
- Lateral field emitters, or emitters parallel to a substrate, have attracted considerable attention in vacuum microelectronics due to ease of fabrication and packaging, design versatility of electrode geometry, and precise control of spacing between electrodes by fine photolithography. This project aims at fabricating lateral emitter arrays based on the lateral arrays of CNTs assembled using dielectrophoresis.
