Oliver Brinkmann

Oliver Brinkmann was born in Zürich, Switzerland, in July 1993. He completed his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at ETH Zürich with a focus on Biomedical Engineering. In an interdisciplinary group of students, he worked on the focus project ConVes, developing a new implantation method for VAD in collaboration with the Berlin Charité and the Zurich Heart Project. Later, Oliver completed an internship in the R&D section of Sensirion, working on gas flow sensors. In his M.Sc. at ETH Zürich, he focused on Robotics and Controls.

In his Master’s Thesis, he used a generalization of affine linear combinations to Lie groups to generalize signal processing and trajectory planning algorithms used for mobile robots.

After working two years for Dentsply Sirona as a Software engineer in the field of X-Ray imaging and algorithms, he joined MSRL as a PhD student in September 2022.

In his free time, Oliver enjoys hiking, playing card games, e.g. Tichu, and spending time with his friends.
