Quan Gao

Quan was born in Shaanxi Province, China, in 1997. He obtained his bachelor's degree in the School of Mechanical Engineering of Northwestern Polytechnical University in 2019. In 2017, he joined in Laboratory for Robotics and Automation Technology & Equipment as a research fellow at Tsinghua University, supervised by Prof. Jing Xu. He mainly researched the soft actuator's design and fabrication using artificial nylon muscles within Xu's Lab. Later he joined the deMello Group of ETH Zurich in February 2019. He finished his bachelor's and master's thesis there. From 2019 to 2021, he mainly researched the micro functional structures design and fabrication, and microfluidic systems as a scientific assistant at ETH supervised by Prof. Andrew deMello. Meanwhile, he finished his master's program at the School of Mechanical Engineering of NPU in 2021. In July 2021, Quan started his doctoral researches at MSRL.
