Researchers at ETH Zurich have developed a new way to break down a dangerous subgroup of PFAS known as PFOS. With the help of nanoparticles and ultrasound, piezocatalysis could offer an effective alternative to existing processes in the future.

Researchers from our Multi-Scale Robotics Lab at ETH Zurich and The Chinese University of Hong Kong have succeeded for the first time in using remote control to perform a magnetic endoscopy on a live pig. The researchers controlled the probe from Zurich while the animal was on the operating table in Hong Kong.

Andrea Veciana presented her research on the degradation of PFAS using piezoelectric nanoparticles at the MaP Graduate Symposium. She showcased her work with a poster and received both the MaP Best Poster Award and the MaP People's Poster Award. Congratulations!
